Ancestry Anyone doing research into their ancestors knows that ancestry.com is far and away the best website for tracking down all the details about one’s relatives. Ancestry.com’s extensive databases include census records; immigration and emigration records; newspapers and periodicals; court, land, wills and financial records; directories and member lists; military records; birth, marriage and death records; and more.

Ancestry.com offers the capability to build a family tree online, and even makes it possible to add photos, stories, audio and more. Their family history community offers connections to others who may turn out to be distant or not-so-distant relatives. And in keeping with all the most recent technological advances, there’s even an app for iPhones.

The library edition of ancestry.com provides access to patrons on site at the library but does not permit access from home. Patrons who bring their own laptops to the library and access the internet through our wireless capability will be able to access ancestry.com.

Ancestry is provided to Canton Public Library patrons through the generosity of the Friends of the Canton Public Library.
