For the month of May at Canton Public Library, the Children's Story Times will be drop-in, meaning that no registration is required. All of the story times will feature spring themes, and all story times will include stories, songs, and a craft.
On Wednesday, May 7 at 10:30 AM and Thursday, May 8 at 10:30 AM, the theme will be ducks, our web-footed avian friends that populate our rivers, lakes, ponds, and marshes, and sometimes even our bath-tubs. The Wednesday, May 7th story time is for youngsters ages 2 and 3 and will be led by Miss Heather. The Thursday, May 8th story time is for youngsters ages 4 and 5 and will be led by Miss Betsy.
On Wednesday, May 14 at 10:30 AM and Thursday, May 15 at 10:30 AM, the theme will be frogs and tadpoles. Along with daffodils and ants, there is no surer sign of spring than tadpoles and their transformation into frogs. The Wednesday, May 14th story time is for youngsters ages 2 and 3 and will be led by Miss Heather. The Thursday, May 15th story time is for youngsters ages 4 and 5 and will be led by Miss Betsy.
Spring cleaning is the focus of the final set of May story times. On Wednesday, May 21 at 10:30, Miss Heather will guide youngsters ages 2 and 3 through the seasonal ritual; on Thursday, May 22, Miss Betsy will guide youngsters ages 4 and 5 through it. The library's extensive collection of plastic toys and trains stands to benefit, particularly if fair weather permits outdoor air drying.
